Waltz for Bill Celebrating the music and legacy of Bill Evans with pianist Tom Szczesniak and his trio with guest vocalist Juliet Dunn
Experience an intimate evening celebrating the music and legacy of legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans, featuring acclaimed Canadian pianist Tom Szczesniak. Inspired by his album Waltz for Bill, Tom explores the lyrical beauty, harmonic sophistication and emotional depth that made Evans one of jazz’s most influential artists, including music associated with the beloved Waltz for Debby.
Event producer and vocalist Juliet Dunn will also join Tom for a special selection of songs, including the new original “When Niagara Falls in Love,” written by Kurt Hagan, along with a few other favourites.
A beautiful evening of jazz, original music and the timeless influence of one of the greatest pianists in jazz history.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Tom Szczesniak - Piano
Tom Szczesniak is a Toronto-based pianist, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist whose remarkable career spans jazz, film, television, and popular music. Since moving to Toronto in 1973, he has performed and recorded with artists including Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray, Little Richard, k.d. lang, and Bobby McFerrin, while contributing music to more than 100 feature films, numerous television productions, and countless commercials. A versatile and highly respected musician, Tom brings decades of experience and a wealth of musical knowledge to every performance.
Paul Novotny - Upright Bass
Paul Novotny is a Toronto-based bassist, composer, producer, and educator whose career spans more than four decades of Canadian jazz and music production. He has performed with internationally acclaimed artists including Cedar Walton, Kenny Wheeler, Geoff Keezer, Junior Mance, and Holly Cole, while also working extensively as a studio musician and composer for film, television, and advertising. A two-time JUNO nominee and co-founder of Triplet Records, Paul has produced numerous award-winning recordings and continues to perform, compose, and teach.
Morgan Childs - Drums
Morgan Childs is a Toronto-based drummer, composer, and educator originally from Invermere, British Columbia. A highly regarded first-call jazz musician, he has performed and recorded with many of Canada’s leading artists, as well as internationally acclaimed musicians including Ingrid Jensen, Zach Brock, Phil Dwyer, Robi Botos, and Ian Hendrickson-Smith. Known for his deep swing, sensitivity, and versatility, Morgan has received multiple awards, including three consecutive CBC Galaxie Rising Star Awards and two Grand Prix du Jazz awards at the Montréal International Jazz Festival.
Juliet Dunn - Guest vocalist
Juliet Dunn is a Canadian jazz vocalist, producer, artistic director, and booking agent whose eclectic career has taken her from the stages of Paris to venues and festivals throughout Canada and beyond. Based in Niagara, she is the co-founder and Executive & Artistic Director of the TD Niagara Jazz Festival and has been a driving force in bringing outstanding local, national, and international musicians to the region. She co-founded and continues to curate the long-running Twilight Jazz & Blues Series, while her Secret Salon Series presents intimate, exclusive concerts in unique and undisclosed Niagara venues. Through her company, J.A.D.E. Niagara, Juliet also books and manages bands and musicians for concerts, festivals, and private events, connecting audiences with exceptional talent across jazz, soul, blues, pop, and other genres.

The Twilight Jazz & Blues Series, founded in 2011 by Juliet Dunn and Peter Shea, offers an inviting evening of live music in an intimate setting where audiences can unwind as the day fades into night. Held on the first Monday of every month at The Hare Wine Co. in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the series showcases a mix of acclaimed artists and exceptional touring and local talent while celebrating the rich traditions of jazz and blues in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. 🎶🍷✨
